Listening to - The Fantastic Mr. Fox soundtrack, "For Emma" and "Skinny Love" by Bon Iver, and "San Francisco" by Foxygen
Enjoying - Writing again! I have been meaning to get back to writing for a number of years, but have been so uninspired. I have a difficult time conjuring up ideas, but I recently went to a writing workshop at a library and was so inspired. There were plenty of gems and secrets about writing to learn; I can't stop referring back to the notes I took. As some of you may know, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is coming up in November. I wanted to do it last year, but never did, so I'm hoping that this year I will be more successful. Hopefully I will decided on an idea by next week. Have any of you ever done NaNoWriMo? What was the hardest part? I'm worried about juggling school and writing, but I can always do with a good time-management test.Reading - The Book Thief, just finishing The Maze Runner series, and about to start the Harry Potter series
Loving - Early mornings. I woke up to the sound of pouring rain and a soft glow on my wall of a porch light across the street. It was six o' clock, and perfectly dark and silent (aside from the rain). I usually wake up at seven, but I loved the early morning so much that here I am again, writing a blog post at six am. Mornings are very wonderful things.
What have all of my wonderful readers been up to while I've taken an unplanned blog break? I moved houses and have been doing piles of homework. I forgot how exciting moving is - and how difficult unpacking can be. Can I confide in you to keep a secret? I'm still not completely unpacked...shh!
Halloween is coming up very soon - if you dress up, what are you planning for your costume? I had originally planned to be Felicity Fox from Fantastic Mr. Fox, but I couldn't find a dress anywhere or the right color of fur for a mask. So I am currently deciding between Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service and Suzy's raven costume from Moonrise Kingdom.
I hope that you all have a wonderful week and enjoy this most splendid season!
I love this sweet post. You are an amazing writer, so I know you will make a splendid story. I've never been in it before but I really want to try it out. :) The Book Thief is amazing!!! I'm going to be Morgona from Merlin(a tv show) for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you, Eve! I really appreciate that. You should definitely check out NaNoWriMo, it is great. Isn't it? The Book Thief is written so splendidly. I have a few friends who are Merlinians, that sounds like a wonderful costume!
DeleteYay, I'm so happy to see another post from my baob!! (before any any blogger, lol) ;P You really are my favorite blogger, I love it when you post, thanks so much for sharing!!

Oh, Bree, you are tremendously sweet! Thank you for all of your kind comments, they truly make my day.
DeleteYou take the most beautiful photos! They are all so amazing. I have been writing some poems, and have been thinking about sharing some on my blog...no one has ever really seen my writings, because they haven't passed "my test." :P I've heard of that website before, I think it sounds a little hard, I like to go with the flow and go with an idea I have. ;) Wonderful post!

Thank you, Sarah! That is incredibly thoughtful of you. I can relate with you, my writing will never be exactly perfect in my eyes. NaNoWriMo does sound difficult - you have to write 50,000 words in 30 days. But I'm not sure I'll ever get around to writing if I don't challenge myself!
DeleteFinally, a post! I love reading all your writing :) The Book Thief is amazing, and the Harry Potter series are as well...it's great that you're back to writing again! I've been feeling uninspired lately, too, but I've been trying to come up with ideas...
ReplyDelete-Jubilee
Thank you, Jubilee! The Book Thief really is splendidly written. Story ideas can be extremely difficult, but once I've found one I can write on and on and on.
DeleteYour photos are absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see someone else is participating in NaNoWriMo this year! It's going to be so much fun with all these amazing bloggers accepting the challenge!

I truly appreciate that, Jordy! Thank you. Yes, I am really looking forward to NaNoWriMo.
DeleteEarly mornings are the best, especially those tiny hours just before dawn (and with the sun rising later and later each day, I keep catching those moments!). I'm putting my vote in for Suzy's raven costume!
ReplyDeleteThey really are. I love watching the world come to life. I've been leaning towards Suzy's costume as well, I will hopefully get pictures up of the final costume!
DeleteOh my goodness, Rachelle. Your blog is so so lovely, your pictures are brilliant, and your writing makes me feel like we're already good friends!

Oh, Adelaide! You are so kind and your comment truly encouraged me. Thank you!
DeleteThis is a great post! It took me weeks to unpack fully last time we moved. The Book Thief made me cry. And I love mornings too. Your photos are breathtakingly beautiful. Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, May! Oh, don't I know it. Unpacking is quite a chore. I cried as well, it is so beautifully written. Thank you again for your kind comment!
DeleteLove love love. =D
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly, Mackenzie!
DeleteAhh wonderful music <3
ReplyDeleteI've done NaNoWriMo for years now! It really is hard! But I'm sure you expected that haha. If you have your idea but you don't know if you can stretch it out 50,000 words, I would recommend doing YWP which is the same site/ thing, just for younger writers! Basically you can set your own word count goal, like maybe 30k- so that way you'd know 'alright, I need to write 1k a day'. It also helps when you're juggling other things, like school! So yeah that'd be my advice haha. Good luck!
xx Juli
Thanks for the advice, Juli! I've thought about doing YWP, and I might do it. But I do like the idea of having a big challenge with 50,000 words.
DeleteGorgeous post! I love your hairstyle in the picture

Thank you, Frances! The hairstyle was inspired by Darling magazine.
DeleteRachelle, you are so so lovely and seem like such a genuinely kind pure and beautiful young lady.
ReplyDeleteI love all your blog posts and you inspire me so much.
I would love it if you could please do some more Christian posts as i love reading those.
It is always so perfect to unexpectedly wake up early and not have to rush around and just sit mindfully and admire the silence.
I hope you like the book their, its such a great book when you get into it and the movie is also made really well.
Harry potter is also a amazing series.
Your hair is so lovely but i do love that you have had it cut short as it really suits you and makes you look very feminine and sophisticated.
I loved your Youtube videos and would love it if you would make more maybe on christmas ideas or how to be a Christian in everyday life and apply the bible in each situation of your life (i am sorry if that didn't make sense)
You are so lovely and i am so pleased to have stumbled across your blog and i always look forward to reading your posts.
Dont worry about having had a break, you must do what is necessary.
I hope you enjoy halloween and slowly chip away at unpacking and it will just eventually be done without even realising!
Moving is a big change and can take a while to get into a new house and make it your home so i hope you don't feel too overwhelmed.
Sorry for this massive ramble but i do really love reading all your posts and i think you are so amazing.
Blessings
Katie (from Australia)
Oh, dear Katie! You are the sweetest. I truly appreciate the time that you put into such a lovely comment, it made my day. I also have missed doing Christian posts, I will hopefully be writing more in the near future. Those are splendid ideas for videos, thank you for asking! I really enjoy making videos, and will definitely be filming more once things have settled down. Thank you again for your heartfelt comment, you are so thoughtful and wonderful! I truly appreciate the support. xo
DeleteI did NaNoWriMo last year, designing book covers, it is a lot of fun. I want to be a book illustrator when I get older. (My user is FlintWinch)
ReplyDeleteThe Book Thief is my favorite, and least favorite book of all time. So good, but a heart breaker.
A few years ago I dressed up as The Fantastic Mr. Fox! We used a plain white face mask, then layered felt for it to look like a fox. It is such a good movie! Have you watched Saving Mr. Banks? That is one of my favorites. My childhood favorite was (still is) Mary Poppins!

How fun! I also love to design covers. That is a great idea for the Fantastic Mr. Fox costume! I was planning to get a plastic animal face mask and layer fur over it; I may do that next year. I agree, it is a splendid film! I haven't seen Saving Mr. Banks, but I have heard of it. I may have to watch it soon!
DeleteI'm so happy that you're back to blogging again! This is a wonderful post-- absoutely beautiful pictures!
